Men, Don’t Forget These Items for Your Summer Vacation

Men, Don’t Forget These Items for Your Summer Vacation

If you vacation frequently, you can almost certainly remember a time that you forgot something vital and were inconvenienced. This sort of forgetfulness can potentially ruin otherwise perfect trips, or at least cost you money in last-minute replacement items. To help you avoid making these types of mistakes, here are some items you should be sure to remember when you go on vacation this summer.

Skin Care

Men are less likely than women to remember to pack essential skincare items, but they can make a huge difference in your confidence and your experience on your trip. This should include everyday skin care items such as cleansers, lotions, and lip balm, but on a summer vacation, there is one vital skincare item that is forgotten the most often: sunscreen. Properly using sunscreen while enjoying the summer weather can make a huge difference to your skin health and appearance. Not only will you avoid a nasty sunburn during the day of your sun exposure, but you can prevent the nasty side effects of repeated exposure to too much sunlight, such as wrinkles, spots, and even skin cancer.

Activewear

No matter what type of trip you are going on, you will probably want to spend some time being active and working out. Whether you’re going for a swim, going golfing or hitting the gym, you’ll want to make sure that you purchase some appropriate men’s activewear, so that you can enjoy yourself and look great doing it. The last thing you want to be doing while on vacation is shopping for golf shorts when you could be golfing.

Electronics and Chargers

Imagine that you have finally reached an iconic scenic vista, and you want to take a picture, only to realize you forgot your camera and your phone battery is dying. These are the kinds of moments that really take the joy out of an otherwise perfect moment on a great trip. Before you ever even leave on your vacation, take the time to list out all the electronics that you might want with you. Your phone will obviously be on the list, but what about a camera? Do you need a laptop, tablet, or e-reader? Then, for each item, you decide to add to the list, add a separate line item for chargers. After all, your laptop is eventually useless if it can’t be plugged in. If you expect to be outdoors for an extended period, it might also be helpful to have a backup power bank you can plug your phone or other items into while you are on the move.

Medication

Medication is a very important item to remember on any trips you take, long or short, this summer. This is especially important for prescriptions, as it can be a huge hassle to try to get those filled while on vacation. Just in case, keep a copy of your prescription with you so that you can get it refilled if necessary. If you’re taking anything regularly, make sure to pack it, even if it is just an OTC medication though. Some common items to consider when you are thinking about packing over the counter medications are allergy pills, pain medication, and even some basic first aid such as topical antibiotic gel and bandages. You never know what might happen while you are away from home, and it is always better to be prepared for anything.

Being well prepared can offer you a lot of ease of mind. Having the right items packed ahead of time means that you will spend far less time looking for things or purchasing items you might already have at home and spend more time doing the things you love to do. You’ll be prepared with the right medication, clothing, and personal care items to make the best of your time, and you’ll have the electronics to document every fantastic experience you have this summer.
